Telling out on the streets where stories come to life.

Something Fishy
This is where DISC storyteller Francine, born and raised in Scheveningen, listened to the stories her father and grandfathers told her when she was little. Tantalising stories, passed on from generation to generation, and now here’s your chance to hear them too!The walk will lead us to the best bits of the original fishermen’s village, we will hear loads of funny and frightening stories.
you will also learn about why there is a mermaid on top of the lighthouse and who that handsome young man was, rising from the waves, while a poor girl was collecting cockles in the puddles after a storm...It is going to be a magical tour; so join in on this delightful storytelling walk through the small alleys of Scheveningen’s traditional fishermen’s village and let their stories show us that, in life, fools sometimes sit in the chairs of wise men, whereas wise men are often left in the position of fools.
Does the Hague hate me?
What a strange question! On this walk we'll use stories to explore the design of our city through the lenses of hostile architecture, urban design, and history. We'll tell stories of great battles, bike lanes, and public urination.
As we walk through the city centre we will work together to shape a new shared understanding of what makes a city's design friendly or hostile.

Murderous sides of the city

There are so many murders to tell stories about in this city we decided to split the tour in two.
If you want to hear about the long history of murder, treachery, and assassination among the Dutch ruling class you'll definitely want to join the walk in the city centré. We'll talk about all of the killing that happened in and around the Binnenhof: some so famous they have their own statue and others so obscure they aren't even on the plaque.
If you'd rather step into the world of sex workers, domestic servants, and unsolved mysteries you'll want to be walking with us through the historic and beautiful Spuikwartier.
