About Us
We host cozy, curious, and courageous storytelling events in and around The Hague.

Our Story
Those aren’t just adjectives—they are the heart of our mission.
Cozy is one of the closest English words to the Dutch gezellig, though it doesn’t quite capture the full feeling. At DISC, we aim to create that sense of gezelligheid—an atmosphere of warmth, welcome, and connection. When you come to a DISC event, we want you to feel like you’re stepping into a living room, not a theatre. That’s why we don’t use microphones—they carry a kind of authority that can flatten the connection between audience and storyteller. Instead, we embrace intimacy, interaction, and surprise. Don’t be shocked if you’re invited to share your own thoughts, feelings, or stories. We love a good dialogue.
Curiosity drives everything we do. We believe that everyone has a master storyteller inside of them—it’s just a matter of finding the right way for the story to come through. The DISC stage has welcomed countless first-time tellers, each bringing something fresh and unexpected. Even seasoned storytellers return with new experiments: collaborations, AI explorations, live music, movement, and more. If it moves you, it moves us.
Courage is also part of the story. It takes bravery to step on stage, but also to truly listen. We believe storytelling can spark courageous conversations, and sometimes, it must. Some DISC events are rooted in hard truths and deep questions—about injustice, genocide, women’s rights, and the suppression of freedom. In these moments, we hold space with grace and humility, making room for stories that challenge, heal, and provoke.
Whether shining a light on social justice or sparking joy in everyday moments, we are your friendly neighbourhood storytellers. Our mission is to create cozy spaces where curious people come together to engage with stories in courageous ways.
Why not stop by and see for yourself?
Meet the DISC Team
A little bit about our new colours.
Each of us chose a colour we wanted to see in the new DISC personality.
Francine chose blue because she grew up next to the sea.
Michael always seems to have something yellow on or around him, and he's a sunny kind of guy, so it just felt like a natural fit.
Connor's first "serious"attempt at a storytelling career involved a little bird named "Red" and it's also the colour of his home town.
The creamy coloured background is based on the orange colour that carried DISC for many years, an homage to our history, faded but not forgotten. The text is not black but Eigengrau. This is the colour you see when you close your eyes and before the story begins.
