The SEVEN Gazes of The Storyteller

"Who looks out with my eyes?" ~ Rumi

Where to direct the eyes?
When?
and with what range of expression?

As storytellers we have to develop the subtlety and language that belongs to this area of our craft and this is an omission as the eyes are often referred to as the windows of the soul.

"My eyes look at me too"  -Namibian proverb

Here is an opportunity to explore the different gazes of the storyteller, the nuances we convey with our eyes, the inner and outer worlds we inhabit and how we as tellers connect to our stories, ourselves and our listeners.

Working with exercises in a warm and supportive way this will deepen your skills as a storyteller to build a calmer centre from which you can witness what is happening around and inside you simultaneously.

The ego plays so many games with us to help us grow, becoming aware of them gives us and our listeners greater freedom.
